Butterfly Chair
The ‘Butterfly Chair’ is a playful and elegant design for toddlers aged +2 years. Open to be downloaded in OpenDesk, an online marketplace that hosts independently designed furniture, the chair is available to anyone with access to a CNC Milling machine. The design is inspired by the monarch butterfly, aiming to spark curiosity in young children and encourage them to appreciate the beauty of nature.
The chair is also highly interactive and playful, featuring pieces with hooks that can be attached to it or used independently as a puzzle. The result is an optimisation of the space in a single wood board, using the minimum amount of material possible by concentrating on the structural logics of butterfly wings.
